B.A.A. Golf Outing June 10, 2012

On Sunday June 10th, the B.A.A. held their annual June golf outing at Bellow Woods. Arsene VanVooren was there to greet and send 56 golfers off at their scheduled tee times beginning at 8:30am on what turned out to be a hot 90° day.

While the golfers were out on the course, Arsene was very busy setting up tables and chairs, as well as gathering pop, beer ice and tubs to store them in. I thought he did more work setting everything up for us than the golf course. He put in a very long & hard day and should be commended for it.

Chuck & Jeff Horan took care of the grill; it was “hot” but they didn’t complain considering there were a few struggles. When the last golfers came in at 3:15pm, Al VanDenBergh, Jr. handled the Peoria handicap system.

The winners this year were Kenny Allemon and Ryan Vaneste at 71 with their handicap.

Erick Deprez shot an actual 71 which is great. His dad, Roland, said he taught him how to golf.

Other winners were: Men’s Longest Drive - Joe Wolf & Ryan Vaneste, Ladies Longest Drive - Patty Onderik.

Closest-to-the-Pin – Jeff Vaneste & Randy Spondid, 3rd Place were Brian Onderik and Lee Miller.

Our next outing is set for September 16th. Hopefully it will be much cooler and we can get a few more golfers.
