General Meeting March 20, 2012

Prior to the start of the meeting, the Board was called together to review the applications for membership from Matt DeSmet, Mark Owczarak and Travis Lamton. They were all approved. With 85 in attendance, President Arsene VanVooren called the meeting to order at 7:30pm at the Barrister Gardens.

A moment of silence was observed for deceased members Camiel DeVuyst, Warren DeCook and Henry Verlinden along with Irene VanVooren, Arsene’s mother.

Roland Deprez read our financial report and Bob Grant reported membership at 278. President VanVooren updated our activities and reported that we will have a disc jockey at our April Joint meeting.

Membership Chairman Dale Verhaeghe introduced membership applicants Matt DeSmet, Mark Owczarak and Travis Lamton, who were then sworn in by President VanVooren. Dale also introduced member Steven Ouvry, currently in the U.S. Marine Corps, who was home on leave.

Band Chairman, Larry Mahieu reported that the band is set for their concert on March 31st.

It was reported by Norm Kay that Frank Mahieu was in the hospital after having a stroke; he also reported that Bob Hison and Ray VanHoet, who had been in the sick list were in attendance.

Chuck Myny reported that the bulletins will be mailed out at the end of the month.

John Roelandt audited our books for January and February and they look to be in good shape.

The Board will discuss a by-law change for lifetime memberships to be lowered from 50 years to 30 years.
