General Meeting May 17, 2011

Prior to the start of the meeting, the Board was called together to review the application for membership from John Phlypo, son of deceased member Charley Phlypo. The application was approved subject to the usual conditions. At 7:30pm, President Arsene VanVooren called the meeting to order with 82 members in attendance.

Our treasurer, Roland Deprez, recapped the financial status. Bob Grant reported that this club has 294 members.

Arsene VanVooren apologized for the problem at the Joint meeting and was taking names for the June golf outing at Bello Woods. A Thank-You card was read from scholarship recipient Katie DeWolf.

Dale Verhaeghe introduced membership applicants Richard Gross, John Phlypo and Mark Cappizzo, who were then sworn in by President VanVooren.

If anyone is interested, Larry Mahieu is selling CD’s from their concert at a cost of $10.

Norm Kay reported that Richard Loosvelt is in Beaumont-Grosse Pointe with respiratory problems and that Joel Goovert, who had been in the hospital, is now home.

Scholarship Chairman Al VanDenBergh, Jr. reported that he has mailed out 5 applications.
