General Meeting January 18, 2011

Prior to the start of the meeting, the Board met to review the application for membership from Henry LeFlere. The application was approved.

The meeting was called to order at 7:35pm by President Arsene VanVooren with 85 in attendance.

A moment of silence was observed for deceased members Julius Lauwers and Michael DeBacker.

President VanVooren spoke of the upcoming Meet-the-Board party. He also announced that the Feather bowling outing is at Bath City Bistro on March 27th from 2-5pm. The bus trip to the FireKeepers Casino is March 22nd. Bob Grant reported that 250 were expected at the Meet-the-Board party.

Dale Verhaeghe introduced Alex McLuckie, guest of Dan Kardacz, David Dyle, guest of Lou Danckaert and Mark Cappizzio, guest of Arsene VanVooren. Dale also introduced membership applicants Alex and Eric Huyghe, sons of Phil Huyghe and Henry LeFlere, who were then sworn in by President Arsene VanVooren.

Larry Mahieu now has tickets for the April Band concert.

Norm Kay reported that Marshall DeSmet and Ed Commyn were both out of the hospital. Norm also reported that the flags and flowers were at the funerals of longtime members Julius Lauwers and Mike DeBacker.

Chuck Myny has updated the website and has mailed out the bulletin.

A light lunch was served followed by the card games.
