B.A.A. Golf Outing June 13, 2010

42 golfers arrived at Bello Woods golf course for the annual June outing. What started out as an overcast and cool Sunday, turned out to be a warm and sunny day. There were 28 golfers for 18-holes that started at 8:30am and 14 golfers for 9-holes that began at 9:30am. Patty VanDenBergh and Bob Putrycus greeted the golfers at check-in and Arsene VanVooren was there to agitate whoever he could! The B.A.A. supplied the food and beverages under the supervision of Chuck & Jeff Horan along with Mel Ferdinande.

When it was all over, the results for the 18-holers were as follows:
Longest Drive for the men-Mark Deckers & Jim DeSandre; Longest Drive for the women-Patty Onderik;
Closest-to-the-Pin for the men was Ken Allemon; Closest-to-the-Pin for the ladies was Lucy Deckers.
Eric Deprez won the honors for an actual score of 78.
The winners, determined by the Peoria Handicap system calculated by Al VanDenBergh, Jr., were:
3rd Place – Al Appel and Mike Boullard with 71;
2nd Place – Mark Deckers with 70;
the winner with a score of 67 was Jim DeSandre.

The 9-hole winners were:
Men’s Longest Drive-Pat Kacanowski; Women’s Longest Drive-Huguette Toth;
Closest-to-the-Pin for the men was Jim Huyghe; on a side note Bob Maes had a birdie!

We hope to see a better turnout for the September outing
