FireKeepers Casino Trip March 23, 2010

On March 23rd, 55 would-be gamblers met in the parking lot of Barrister Gardens for the bus trip to Firekeepers Casino near Battle Creek. With Al and Pat still in Florida, John and Marie took honors for being the last to arrive. Our driver, Steve got us through the rush hour in Detroit without any major delays. We had 9 people celebrating birthdays in March, but John Roelandt and Jeanne Aluia were celebrating on that day. After enjoying the view of Detroit from the freeway, a raffle was held and the lucky winners were birthday boy John Roelandt, Connie Sorgeloos and John Bopp. We arrived at the casino at 9:30am making very good time. We were met by a representative from the casino and he explained what we had to do to activate our card. Everyone went their own way, some were winners, and some were losers. John and Gloria Roelandt’s sons Peter and Alex, reside in the Kalamazoo area. Alex was unable to get away from his busy schedule but Peter was able to meet his mom and dad for some time together. The food at the restaurants was very good. At the buffet, they had to send out for some more tiramisu because I know at our table a couple of gentlemen really like it! We departed at 5:00 and were back home by 7:00pm. The driver again made good time. Our next trip is April 28-30 with a cost of $149 receiving $90 in cash & tokens, $10 in food vouchers and 2 breakfasts. I still have openings. If you’re interested, please contact Bob Putrycus, as soon as possible. I would like to thank my wife Anne, Roland Deprez, Arsene VanVooren and Dale Verhaeghe for all of their help on this trip. I really appreciated it.

Respectfully Submitted,
