Joint Meeting October 19, 2010

The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by President Arsene VanVooren at Barrister Gardens with 170 members in attendance. A motion was made and supported to dispense with the regular order of business.

Dale Verhaeghe introduced membership applicant Patrick Rice; President VanVooren then swore him in. President VanVooren apologized to the membership about the mistakes in the bulletin regarding dates and names.

Arsene announced that the Memorial Mass went well and thanked the Century Club for a job well done in the kitchen. The Christmas Party is December 12th at 2:00pm at St. Gertrude’s. The Meet-the-Board Dinner is January 22nd with doors opening at 6:00pm and dinner being served at 7:00pm.

Nominations for the Board will be at the November General meeting and if necessary, an election will be held in December.

Man-of-the-Year applications are available from Arsene.

Norm Kay reported that Mike DeBacker was in the hospital, Mel Ferdinande was finally home, Gene Mulier was in attendance and Charley Phlypo was back in the hospital.

After a dinner of roast beef, Jerry Robotka provided dance music for the rest of the night.

Drawing winners were: Marion Allemon won the Money Tree; cash winners were-Ted Westfall, Paul Mareel, Joe Aliua, Lynn Yagley, Margaret Desmet, Lucy Deckers, Butch Desmet, Carl Czupinski, Pat Rice, Sandy Johnson, Brian Hillewere, Roger Mestdagh, Ben Allemon, Marcel Tanghe.
