General Meeting September 15, 2009
The B.A.A. monthly meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by President Arsene VanVooren at Barrister Gardens.
There were 89 in attendance. The roll call of Officers and Board members showed all present except Mel Ferdinande.
Treasurer, Roland Deprez read the August 2009 Financial report and brought the membership up-to-date on our investments.
Bob Grant reported our membership stands at 304. He has deleted 6 members.
Entertainment Chairman Arsene VanVooren recapped the golf outing which had 72 golfers. The winners for the 18-hole golfers
were Ken and Kevin Huyghe along with their partners, Adam and Axel. The longest drive went to Jim DeSandre and closest
to-the-pin was Al VanDenBergh, Jr. The 9-hole winners were Don & Cindy Werbrouck and John & Trish Melasi. The longest
drive went to Pat Kacanowski and closest-to-the-pin was Trish Melasi. Congratulations to all! Arsene thanked Chuck Horan for
manning the hot grille, Al VanDenBergh, Jr. for handling the best-ball format & Patty VanDenBergh and Bob Putrycus for
checking in all the golfers and getting them started. Everything ran smooth, thanks to all of their hard work. The casino
trip is sold out with 53 attending. The Memorial Mass is October 4th at 12:30pm at Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Gertrude’s
campus with lunch to follow in the gymnasium. The Joint meeting in October will be at Barrister Gardens with music provided
by Jerry Robotka. The Halloween party is October 25th at St. Gertrude’s gymnasium from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.

Band Chairman Larry Mahieu announced the band Christmas concert will be at St. Gertrude’s meeting rooms A, B,
and C.
Our Sick and Visiting Chairman Norm Kay reported that both Oscar Vercruysse and Frank Baecke who had been on the
sick list were both in attendance and doing well. Frank Baecke thanked the members for their cards and calls
while he was laid up.
Our kitchen crew reported that lunchmeat and veggies would be served at the meeting.
Etienne Elskens asked that the articles for the bulletin be turned in at the October Board meeting.
Our auditor John Roelandt audited the books for July and August and said there were no problems.
Scholarship chairman Al VanDenBergh, Jr. said the Board will review the applications at the October Board meeting.
Attendance chairman Scott Schumacher had 20 prizes and the winners were: Lucien Mareel, John Begin, Don Vermuelen,
Larry Mahieu, Bernie Allemon, Hank DeNolf, Dale Verhaeghe, Steven Ouvry, Marshall DeSmet, and Marcel Verdoot,
John Bopp, Frank Callabaut, Cy DeWitte, Bob Grant, Ed Commyn, John Baecke, Larry Allemon, and Roland Snauwert
The meeting was adjourned at 8:05pm
