General Meeting August 18, 2009

The B.A.A. monthly meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by President Arsene VanVooren at Barrister Gardens. The roll call of Officers and Board members showed all present except Bob Grant and Frank Baecke.

Treasurer, Roland Deprez read the July 2009 Financial report. Our membership now stands at 302.

Entertainment Chairman Arsene VanVooren reported that 33 people attended the Hazel Park outing and the horses were eating well after all the money that was bet on them. Arsene was taking names for the September 13th golf outing. If anyone is interested, contact Arsene for times. The softball game with the Century Club is September 20th beginning at 2pm at Kennedy Park in Eastpointe at 2:00pm. The September Casino trip to the Soo is sold out as of right now. The Memorial Mass on October 4th will be at 12:30pm at St. Gertrude’s campus. Due to the merger of St. Germaine and St. Gertrude, they were unable to accommodate the Belgian Clubs at their 10:30am Mass, so Father Jim Bjorum is adding the 12:30pm Mass for us. I hope we get a large turnout to help remember all of our deceased members. Lunch will follow in the gymnasium Both the Halloween and Christmas parties will be at St. Gertrude’s.
