General Meeting October 21, 2008
Prior to the start of the meeting, President Arsene Van Vooren called the Officers and Board members together
to review the application for membership from Joseph VanMol. A motion was made and supported to approve his
application.
The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by President Arsene VanVooren at the Barrister Gardens. A roll
call of officers showed all present except John Roelandt and Greg Silage. A motion was then made and
supported to dispense with the regular order of business.
President VanVooren turned the meeting over to Entertainment Chairman Norm Kay. Norm reviewed the remaining
events of the Club for the year. Norm reminded the members that for the Halloween and Christmas parties,
only the children whose fathers are members get in free; all others pay $5.00. At that point, President
Van Vooren introduced membership applicants Joseph VanMol and Donald Brazier, who happens to be
Past-President Norm Kay’s brother-in-law. The family had asked to have Norm swear his brother-in-law in,
so he did the honors for both applicants.
Norm also reported that Ernie DeVaene was back in the hospital. President Van Vooren informed the members
that he has Man-of-the Year forms and that the nominations for the Board positions are in November and if
necessary, the election will be in December.
A delicious lunch of roast beef, mashed potatoes and regular salad with rolls was served by Mel Ferdinande,
Gary Huyghe, Mike Huyghe and Chuck Horan. Mulier’s market supplied the roast beef which was excellent.
The salads and cakes were made by Toni Lams and as usual were delicious. Thanks also go out to Marianne
Baecke, Marie Ronse, Anny Putrycus, Irene Michaels, Marion Allemon and Diane Myny for their help in getting
the cakes cut and distributed.
The rest of the evening was spent dancing and listening to the music of Bill and Kurt. The drawing winners
were: Bob Free, Ray Rudoni, Elsie Wolk, Marion Allemon, Maggy Deprez, Al DeBacker, Charley Phlypo,
Pat VanDenBergh, Bob Joye, Maury VanCoillie, Leo Michaels, Larry Mahieu and Bob Hison.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:45pm.
Respectfully Submitted,
Bob Putrycus
