Joint Meeting April 15, 2008

The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by President Arsene Van Vooren at the Barrister House. A roll call of Officers and Board members showed all present except Bob Grant, Bill Meldrum, Greg Silage, Al DeBacker, John Roelandt and Etienne Elskens. A motion was made and supported to end the regular order of business.

President Van Vooren apologized to the membership for the errors in the bulletin. He was responsible for getting the bulletin out this month.

He congratulated Larry Mahieu and Oscar Vercruysse for the success of their concert on April 12th. Oscar then thanked the membership for their support to make it a success.

Entertainment Chairman Norm Kay reviewed all of the upcoming events for the summer and announced that he was giving starting times for the June golf outing. Norm also reported that Leo Lamote, Joe Allemon and Ted Monahan were on the sick list and that Ernie DeBaene was now home from the hospital.

It was announced that Andre Mestdagh and his wife Lydia were celebrating their 54th Wedding Anniversary and that Hank Denolf will be 80 on the 17th of this month. Congratulations to all and wishes for many more!!

There were two guests, Matt VanSteenkist and Ed VanRossen, in attendance. They both completed membership applications and will probably be sworn in at the May meeting.

A lunch or dinner, whichever you made it out to be, was served by Gary Huyghe and his brothers, Dick and Mike along with Jeff Horan. Mel Ferdinande was in attendance but still incapacitated. The meal consisted of roast beef, mashed potatoes, rolls potato salad and regular salad. Toni Lams made both salads and cakes for dessert. Everything was delicious, as usual.

The dance music was provided by the Jerry Robotka band.

The drawing winners were: Helen VanRossen, Bob Joye, Carl Czupinski, Jim Huyghe, Ed Commyn, Wendy Ouvry, Casey Wolk, Pat DeLaere, Marion Westfall, Dick Cleyman, Ray VanHoet, Anne Putrycus, Leo Michaels, David Vasquez, Marshall DeSmet, Marion Allemon, Julius Voet, Roger Mestdagh, Dan Depauw and Karen Verhaeghe.

Respectfully Submitted,

Bob Putrycus
