Bruce Post December 7, 2008

On Sunday, December 7th, the annual Children's Christmas party was held at the Bruce Post. As the grownups and children arrived, they were greeted by music from several members of the B.A.A. band under the direction of Chris Migliori. The children were able to color pictures until 'Ming the Magician' began his show at 2:30pm.

At 3:15pm the long-awaited Santa Claus arrived. Santa (Al Geldolf) along with his elves, Jessica Allemon and Samantha VanVooren provided all 45 children with a present of their choice. The children were thrilled! Santa, as usual, received high marks for his patience and pleasure in listening to each child's request. He also made himself available for pictures with the children. When everyone was finished taking pictures, Santa drew a name out of all the children that attended for a special gift from the B.A.A. This year's winner was Kristin Buffa who received a train set.

A lunch of pizza and submarine sandwiches along with chips and ding-dongs was served by Mel Ferdinande, Gary Huyghe, and Chuck Horan. There were extra gifts available, which were offered to the members for $5.00 each. At the end of the sale, there were 20 presents remaining so Rick Tanghe stepped forward and bought all 20 to donate to the Capuchin Monastery. That will make 20 children happy at Christmas. Thank you, Rick, for your generosity!

All in all, it was a nice party and thanks extended to Norm and Maureen Kay, Arsene and Pam VanVooren, Karen Verhaeghe, Al and Pat VenDenBergh, Jr. and Bob and Anne Putrycus.
